Be a best designer and tour guide for your town
Teacher creates a situation in which the small town needs to be redesigned to be a tourist attraction site. Ss work in a group of six and design together a new map in accordance with the designing of the new town. In the new town various places such as school, park, museum, post office, cinema and ect. should be included. The group leader needs to introduce the places and how to get to those places. For instance, “Welcome to our Green Town. It is beautiful and clean. There are many places. Now we are in front of our Green school. Go straight, and turn left at the crossing. You can get to the beautiful park.”
Targets: Through the meaningful of activity of being a designer and tour guide, task-based teaching method is adopted to provide Ss with a real-life situation to use the language to improve their communicative and cooperative abilities.
